Hi guys!
It looks like I'm having alot of readers interested in Stella and Dot. I too love the stuff and am going to be placing my order with them soon.
I've now decided to move into a different career direction. Real Estate! Yay. I figure with all my experience and entrepreneurial desires, I might as well give it a whirl.
Anyway, I was just researching different fashions and thought I would check out what is up with Stella and Dot. After visiting their site (again) I came by my own to see what is happening with visitors. I noticed quite a few comments under the Stella and Dot subject that I posted last winter. I made my own comment their too!
Hope everyone who is joining Stella and Dot does well with their businesses!

I Tried.... I'm out....
Well, I haven't posted in a while. I guess I will become another stat for Direct Marketing. I gave it a real try but the response rate of new customers was painfully excruciating. I sent out flyers to let people know I would be sending brochures. I sent out invites to my website and then flyers and more brochures. I cold called some houses that I sent flyers to to let them know I would be sending brochures. I gave all kinds of contact info to let people know how to order. But the response rate was low...low....low. I guess I can't continue to beat this dead horse. Oh, well at least I got that out of my system. My husband is very excited I finally came to my senses. I have always told him the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Ha - I think I will take my own advice now. Whew- I'm freeeeee.
I really had to figure this thing out. Does Direct Marketing work - I mean - Can a regular person make a real living at it? Maybe $35,000 or $45,000. The answer is No. I believe you have to have a huge existing network of really close friends and family to even start. Then they all have to believe in the product as much as you do so they either buy allot twice a month and you make the commission or even better they join under you and buy allot, I mean tons of stuff. It's all a dream. I guess I didn't believe huge corporations could stay in business without true integrity but they are selling the dream. P.S Does the CEO of Avon wear an Avon pearl necklace in all the photo opps. That's one thing that I've noticed for the last year or so, every photo you see her in she wears a pearl necklace. I haven't noticed Avon selling pearls?!
I think I will have to start blogging about something else soon. I'll be back here to let you know what I've been up to. Hope I didn't piss anyone off. That is not my intention. I am just a little saddened of this true realization. It is a relief that I am not obsessed with Avon anymore. Although I know my brain will find a new obsession soon enough. I can't stop it!! Maybe I should take up wine tasting. HA! I'm rambling, gotta go.
Thanks for tuning in. I will be back.

Favorite Avon products soon........
Hi, How's everyone?
I've been busy looking for a part- time job outside of Avon. I think I've narrowed it down to a few places I'd like to work. We'll see how the interviews go.
My husband works in car manufacturing and as we all know that industry isn't doing to well. Not sure where the company is headed - things look a little brighter than some car plants though, cause it's a Japanese car company.
Anyway, I'm just working on a cover letter now and thought I'd stop in.
I'll post about some of my favorite Avon products next. Probably later today.
by for now,
Kim

How are Ya?
Hi, haven't posted in a couple of days. Just thought I'd check in. How is everyone?
I know with the economy the way it is money is tight for fellow Avon Reps and alot of the customers out there.
My brochure drop off last week was interesting! I recieved a New Customer, which was fantastic. This customer strictly ordered via e-mail. For future notice to other Avon Rep's, I do not recomend e-mail orders. I learned that lesson hard way! Cancelled a substantial order - no explanation, Via E-Mail. Nice.
Anyway who....the ball will keep rolling.
I am looking forward to spring and all that Avon has to offer in Brochure Number 5.
Talk to you later,
Kim

Hi, I want to welcome new customers to the site.
I put out another 100 brochures last night for campaign 4. I received the brochures on Thursday from another Avon Rep. I wanted to get the brochures out there as soon as possible cause Campaign 4 is over on February 15 which is tomorrow!!! I was hoping to target some new streets that haven't seen brochures in a while (other than my brochures and notice letters).
Welcome to all new Customers and Happy Valentines Day!
Hope to talk to you soon,

Still Love Glazewear
O.K I want to talk a little about some of my favorite products.
I love Glazewear. Now I've sold Avon a few times over the years. I usually stopped in between pregnancies, looking back I didn't have to stop I could have just slowed right down, Oh well.
So I remember when my oldest daughter, who is now 5 was a baby, I got hooked on Glazewear. (That's how I remember timelines nowadays it's how old was each child during this or that.) I bought a few travel sized glazewear lipsticks, I believe the brand was new to Avon, so I wanted to try them out. I loved them. Although I chose to try out a few of the browns, which for me weren't the greatest colors but the pinkish tones were great and I am a fan of lipgloss, cause it is usually more moisturising than lipstick.
Now, I'm noticing the Glazewear in the latest brochure - Campaign 4. The mini sizes are back! For 99 Cents! Yay! Cause I know in today's economy everybody is pinching pennies. I also noticed the Glazewear eyeshadow is back in this Campaign, I never did try out the Turquoise Dream shadow that I wanted at Christmas time so maybe this time, the price is great at $4.99 for the full sized eyeshadow. I love it!
Anyway, as per request from my Aunt I've been meaning to talk about Chefables, I will in my next post, although I have to warn you I haven't tried chefables myself - yet.
So Many Products.............

Strep Throat.
Well, I was right! I was at the hospital last night, cause there were no walk in clinics open, when I was able to get out. I sat there for 4.5 hours to find out yes, I have strep throat. The Doctor gave me some medication and it seems to be getting better already.
I thought maybe it was tonsilities - when the doctor asked me "have you had your tosilis out?" I thought, - can't you see them? I thought they were in plain sight. Anyway, I should be fine in a couple of days.
Now , I have to set up an account with Avon, so they get paid!!

Brochures for Campaign 4
Most of my brochures for campaign 4 have been distributed, hopefully some new customers give me a call. I want to make a correction about what I had said in a previous post about the Valentines brochure (Campaign 3) I mentioned it had a couple of pages of bras. The Canadian brochure didn't, I found an online brochure that I leafed through and I realized later it was an American brochure. They seem to be a little different. Although I do remember someone telling me years ago that Avon caters to each Country a little different. That's interesting.......
I think I have a case of Strep Throat... OUch. I guess I can't yell at the kids today. Ha Ha.
I look forward to Campaign 4.

Order has been sent
Well the order has been sent into Avon and I can't wait to get it. It'll be my first official order as an Avon rep, this time around. I have been a rep twice before and an Avon "helper" once before. So, I have an idea how this all works but it's been about 4 and a half years since I've been an official rep putting in my own orders and about 2 years since I was a "Helper" having someone else put in my orders and me receiving the commissions. I wasn't sure about becoming a " Helper" but thought that it would work for me while I was pregnant with my third. I had a lot of fun with it and my youngest two would help deliver brochures around the neighbourhood that late winter and early spring. I remember being pregnant and wobbling down the street handing out the brochures. All my kids were around the 10lb mark when they were born and I am petite so it was nuts wobbling all over town! I had bought a pair of drawstring pants from Avon, they were linen maybe you remember them from the brochure? I bought them in a larger size so they would fit around my 52" belly. They kept sliding down though!!! I needed suspenders but had too much pride to buy them! There were no maternity pants that fit properly. The early stages of pregnancy the retail stores would tell me if you are an extra small normally you are an extra small during pregnancy. Boy, were they wrong. I was a weeble wobble size! No hips, no but - and a HUGE belly! Almost like Kate's belly from, John and Kate plus 8, or at least like Kim and Kelly plus triplets but it was always just one massive baby. I wish I could have the free tummy tuck!!!
Well, we won't be having any more kids so I won't have to worry about wobbling around town any more.
I went off on a tangent - it's all good.
So, I watched The Super Bowl like most people, especially in the U.S. It was a great ending. I know very little about football but watch maybe once a year. I'm glad I caught this years. And that's all I have to say about that. Maybe I'll post a pregnancy picture or two.

Need an ink cartridge
watch the google add say," ink cartridges!!!" I use "adsense" as a counter, I don't think blogger.com has a counter built in.
Anyway I was thinking of curculating some more flyers only, I'm all out of ink for my printer so, I'll trek out in the snow in a few hours to get the cartridges then print a flyer, head back to Staples Business Depot and use their printer to print about 200 hundred flyers or so. (Their ink will probably be less expensive than mine!) Oh, just writing that makes me tired!! Good thing I live really close to Staples!!

Goofing with pics
I've been goofing around with pictures trying to change my profile picture and adding the"gadget picture". I think like most people I hate having my picture taken!!!
I had my oldest daughter take a few pic's of me. She is a real photographer. She was even shmoozing me as she was taking the pictures! She said "You look like a real princess, Mommy!" as she was click, click, clicking away! I am always amazed at their little/big brains!

Last of Campaign 3
Well, I just distributed the last of my Campaign 3 brochures. I held back about 5 or so, to see if anyone from the flyer distribution wanted a brochure. If they did, you can always borrow mine or just ask me to deliver a brochure to you next campaign.
I think I will try advertising the same way again next campaign. The results were pretty good. I think I'll ramp it up a bit next campaign, to gain more customers. I will also order Mark catalogues for the handful of current customers I have. In case you don't know what "Meet Mark" is; it's a spin off company of Avon that carries trendy Makeup, clothes and accessories. The makeup focuses on smaller compact sizes for carrying in your purse. The jewelry is a little more "chunkier" on a whole and the clothing is "funkier". Of course, Avon also carries the "Expressions" line which is home decorating products as well as the "Chefables" line which is kitchen products. In all my years of being an Avon fan I don't think I've tried Expressions or Chefables. I've been tempted but haven't yet.
I'm excited to see if the last of the catalogues will stir an interest in someone new. I tried to pick an area that I don't think has been serviced but....who knows. I didn't knock on any doors to find out.

Unable to upload image

Well, it seems like everyone will have to wait for upcoming brochures to see pictures of the upcoming Avon watches and jewelery that I tried to upload. It looks like blogger.com does not recognize the photos.
On another note. How was your weekend? Ours was a little more hectic than usual. We had some visitors from Northern Ontario, the in-laws. The kids and I went to a family Birthday Party in Woodbridge. The Birthday party was at a playgroup. I love those indoor playgroups, I can spend all day in there. My girls are very extroverted and I find them allot of work when they are bored so, they are never bored at the indoor play centres. Which is fantastic!!
Then when we came back from the morning birthday party we celebrated my husbands 35th Birthday! I think he knew what he was getting. It seems like no matter what occasion it is he always finds out where I hide his present! Mind you I am not overly creative finding hiding spots. I bought him a dart board a couple of weeks ago, left it in the van for a couple of days and he used the van during that time! He didn't say anything about finding the gift but ...I had a feeling he saw it in the back on the floor. Just in case he didn't I put it under a bed in a spare room. Of course, being the helpful husband he is, he cleaned the spare room for the in-law visit. I noticed the box sticking out from under the bed a little. Hmmm.
Anyway, I wanted a wooden box to put the dart board in so I went to Canadian Tire and the only dart board "boxes" they had came with the dart board and "flyers" The Canadian Tire set was a NHL theme so I thought, I'll get him this set and return the other. When I came back from shopping I said, "I know you saw your present and I am returning it so, you won't get that anyway." HAH! He admitted to seeing it and said, "I like it but, I did see it twice!"
He was happy to see the new dart board, and just finished installing it. He was thinking of playing hooky from work to play darts, but decided it would be best to go to work! Good idea!
Anyway, I've been considering an interavon website. That way customers can order directly from my website if they choose. That will be down the road, probably late spring. I'll link it to this blog when it's up.
talk to you later, I have a stinky bumm to change, ewe.

Mineral Makeup
Hey, I know Avon has been selling Mineral Makeup for a while now which is great. It is, as far as I understand, hypoallergenic and very good for the environment and your skin.
Looking ahead to Campaign 4, the focus will be Mineral makeup. If anyone has ever wanted to try mineral makeup at a great price, definitely consider Avon.

Great Spring Colors coming
I was just checking on my Avon Rep. Site. Some of the upcoming products for spring are great! I noticed some coral and teal jewelry. I especially love a new watch that is coming in Campaign 6. It has a small round face with a chain link band. The watch is all metal and teal in color. It is great. I'll see if I can cut and paste a picture or two.

My Baby Boy all grown up!
We just got back from getting haircuts! The youngest two got their haircut.
Sabrina is a princess, with sparkly hairspray. Alec got his first cut! He looks like a Big Boy now. I thought for sure he would cry, but no, he loved all the attention. Afterwards we did a little shopping in the mall and Alec was strutting making sure everyone noticed his awesome cut. He looks like a little punk rocker now.

Tupperware is Great...
I've been meaning to talk about one of every ones other favorite companies- at least I think so. It's Tupperware. About every 6 months or so I put in my order to Tupperware. Just like Avon I can't wait to get it. The products are always meet or exceed my expectations and they always last longer than any other plastic kitchen product. I especially love the kids tumblers with the sippy cup lids that you can buy separate. In fact I'm going to put in an order for more today! I have three kids and they absolutely are addicted to the cups - Is there are rehab for that sort of thing? My Tupperware Lady is Awesome she'll always let me know what other things are half price etc.. I usually just get what I want and that's it, but it's nice to have a heads up.

Delivered a few
Well, I just got in from delivering a few brochures. I know a handfull of people asked me to drop brochures by so, I wanted to do that A.S.A.P. I know myself as a customer I can't wait to see the latest brochure so when people ask to see one I will get them delivered as soon as I can. As for dropping 50 brochures off in the neighborhood, didn't happen this morning. There is a wee bit of a snow storm out there! Maybe tonight.

All Signed Up!
Well, I did it! Very Exciting. I will be able to access my own personal account in about 24 hours.
I've already signed and dated about 50 catalogues and will be distributing them by tomorrow. If you don't receive a Campaign 3 Brochure and would like one, please let me know.
Now, I've got to clean pen marks off the computer screen. I just noticed there are a few more than usual. I asked my daughter if she did it while she was watching her movie and she said,"Yes, it's an alligator". It really looks like an Alligator too very nice......too bad it's on the monitor. I have learned from the past toothpaste does the trick on the LCD screens.
till next time,
Kim

I asked my daughter if she did it while she was watching her movie and she said,"Yes, it's an alligator". It really looks like an Alligator too very nice......too bad it's on the monitor. I have learned from the past toothpaste does the trick on the LCD screens.
till next time,
Kim
I'm "signing on" today
I am so excited! I will be signing on to be an Avon representative today! For those of you who have received my flyers please let me know if you would like a brochure. It looks like Avon is in full force with Campaign 3, but I still we be able to receive my brochures and get some out to customers.
I'm hoping to meet some new customers as well as look up a few past customers.
talk to you soon, I need to go put away our Christmas Tree and air out the house. I cleaned the oven (pushed the self clean button) last night and the kitchen has a burnt smell, lesson to self don't clean oven on the coldest day of the winter.

Some Avon Success Stories
I've been researching Avon success stories and have found about a dozen really great ones. They are about women from United States. I will post some of their stories here. In the meantime I will be searching for some great Avon story's from Canada as well.
Here is a Success Story about Elena Maldonado. At the time she started her Avon business, 10 years ago, she had four young kids. Elena researched different home based businesses and found Avon to be her best match.
Elena enjoys that Avon is a recognizable name and is an easy sell. She joined the Leadership program of Avon which gives her incentives to recruit and mentor other Avon reps.
Her total unit has sold $1.3 Million in sales in one year. Now, from what info I have gathered I understand her commissions on that $1.3 Million would be 5%! According to the Avon leadership website I visited, Elana's personal sales have reached about $30,000 in a year. My best guess is that her commissions are probably around 35% of that, given cosmetics give a 50% commission and other products such as Health and Wellness, Gifts, and Licensed products earn you less commissions.
Well now, I have to get a calculator to figure these numbers out, but they look pretty darn good.
Anyway, see you again.
* I got the above info from the website YourAvon.com

Welcome to new readers
I want to welcome new readers to the avoncustomers.blogspot.com blog.
I have recently handed out some flyers letting people know about my site and I want to give them a Warm Welcome on this cold winter! Hopefully it will be an early spring. When is Groundhog Day?
I will be getting Avon Catalogues in the near future so if anyone would like to receive one please let me know, either by e-mailing or phone. You can click under this post to e-mail, or use the e-mail and/or phone number given in the flyer.
If you already have an Avon Lady please let me know so I don't leave an extra catalogue on your door step, when I do distribute them.
Thank you.

Avon Campaign 3 brochure
Hi,
I just got a sneak peak of Avon Brochure for Campaign 3. It is the best Valentines Brochure I've seen ever. I've been a fan of Avon for a long, long time and this campaign is fabulous. There is sterling silver jewelry at a great price and pages and pages of great Valentines stuff. There is even about three pages dedicated to Bras! I love all the red valentines gifts for everyone, especially the kid stuff. Wow - Avon is doing such a great job.
I can't wait to sign on. My plan is to sign up for the Valentines Campaign - I look forward to it!

A story about Avon's CEO

OK. It seems like things are settling a bit around here after the Christmas Holiday's. Our family is back in to it's usual crazy schedule. Although my daughters are taking a break from dance class for the next few months so that's a little easier for the "Mom chauffeur". We will be signing them up for soccer soon enough, so in the meantime I'm going to enjoy a slower pace!
Today I wanted to start a post, hoping to spark a feeling of inspiration towards Avon, for fellow readers. I will follow this post with other inspirational Women who are part of the Avon organization but, today I thought I'd start with the CEO of the company.
Her name is Andrea Jung, chairman and CEO of Avon Products, Inc. In 2006 she was ranked seventh on Fortune magazine's 2006 list of the "50 most Powerful Women in Business."
Now, I googled her and found a bit of info and would like to share this with you. Harvard business School released a press release in November 2006 about her being a speaker for Harvard Business School's MBA students. In 1994 Andrea Jung was president of the U.S. Product Marketing Group and felt there was a need to "reinvent the Avon brand." Andrea repositioned Avon as "the company for women."
She became Avon's 9th CEO and first women CEO in 1999.
I will continue to add more to this section of my blog in the following days.
I also want to add I received an awesome pair of earrings from Danielle Redner, who is a Stella and Dot stylist in Ontario. Thank you Danielle. I love them! The new Stella and Dot catalogue is great, I love how it's "put" together, everything jumps right out at you, I want it all! I'll keep you posted on Stella and Dot as well.
Now I've got to go and do a craft or two with my two youngest kids.
Cheers,
Kim
