A story about Avon's CEO

OK. It seems like things are settling a bit around here after the Christmas Holiday's. Our family is back in to it's usual crazy schedule. Although my daughters are taking a break from dance class for the next few months so that's a little easier for the "Mom chauffeur". We will be signing them up for soccer soon enough, so in the meantime I'm going to enjoy a slower pace!

Today I wanted to start a post, hoping to spark a feeling of inspiration towards Avon, for fellow readers. I will follow this post with other inspirational Women who are part of the Avon organization but, today I thought I'd start with the CEO of the company.

Her name is Andrea Jung, chairman and CEO of Avon Products, Inc. In 2006 she was ranked seventh on Fortune magazine's 2006 list of the "50 most Powerful Women in Business."

Now, I googled her and found a bit of info and would like to share this with you. Harvard business School released a press release in November 2006 about her being a speaker for Harvard Business School's MBA students. In 1994 Andrea Jung was president of the U.S. Product Marketing Group and felt there was a need to "reinvent the Avon brand." Andrea repositioned Avon as "the company for women."

She became Avon's 9th CEO and first women CEO in 1999.

I will continue to add more to this section of my blog in the following days.

I also want to add I received an awesome pair of earrings from Danielle Redner, who is a Stella and Dot stylist in Ontario. Thank you Danielle. I love them! The new Stella and Dot catalogue is great, I love how it's "put" together, everything jumps right out at you, I want it all! I'll keep you posted on Stella and Dot as well.

Now I've got to go and do a craft or two with my two youngest kids.

Cheers,

Kim
